MOLINILLO ~ for Cacao

$48.00

Molinillos are the best tool for preparing your ceremonial cacao! They are made from a single piece of wood that is carved away by a Mexican artisan to create spinning rings and holes that help to mix and oxygenate cacao into a silky smooth texture.

Your high-quality molinillo is created by Maestro Juan Alonso Rodriguez, made from the beautiful wood of the Aile tree. I source these directly from my cacao teacher, Gustavo, from Mexico. Each molinillo is handmade and therefore unique. Imperfections are to be expected from this handmade item.

HOW TO USE:

Rapidly stir cacao warming in a pot by spinning the molinillo between your palms to generate a swift mixing motion to fully aerate and froth the perfect cup of cacao. Hold the molinillo near the top of the long handle between your palms while spinning it rapidly. The faster the better for more froth!

BEFORE USE:

To soften any rough cuts in the wood, boil water in a pot on the stovetop and spin the molinillo rapidly for a few minutes. You might want to do this a few times before using it for cacao.

The more you use your molinillo, the more the oils from cacao will enrich its character and will become even more beautiful and sacred to you. This sacred tool wants to be lovingly displayed in your kitchen!

Blessings to your ceremony of cacao-making! :)
